Love, fate, and power collide in this new series by #1 New York Times bestselling author Aprilynne Pike!
Tavia Michaels is the sole survivor of the plane crash that killed her parents. When she starts to see strange visions of a boy she’s never spoken with in real life, she begins to suspect that there’s much about her past that she isn’t being told. Tavia will soon discover that she’s an Earthbound—someone with the ability to create matter out of nothing—and that she alone holds the key to stopping the Reduciata, an evil society that manipulates global events for its own shadowy purposes. Tavia will ultimately have to make a choice: to come into her powers and save the world from the evil Reduciata or to choose free will and a love of her own.

My Stance:
I haven't read anything by Pike as of yet, and this book has been brought to my attention lately and it sounds like a great place to start. My first question though is how do you pronounce Reduciata? I have tried and it seems to slip past my mind over and over, and my tongue just won't do it on its own. Aside that, how does one control or manipulate global events? I am confused on that aspect, but if Tavia can create matter out of nothing, I guess anything is possible. However, I am looking forward to how this is explained.
Tavia sounds like a great character, and I hope she's strong and dependent. Kind of like how Saba or any of Melina Marchetta characters are. The past and who Tavia is, and why Tavia can create the world is going to play a great part in telling her past. The relationships and world of Tavia sounds great, and I have my doubts of her character as well. I am looking at Tavia and the simple question, why can't she save the world and have the love she desires as well? There is something about that I just don't agree with, and I hope there is some bridge there, something. We'll see, I can't wait to read this book!

This does look awesome. I really liked her Life After Theft and am definitely excited to dive into this one. Great pick!
