Blood Red Road by Moira Young
Now this is a prime example of what I expect out of the good trailer. The trailer answers enough questions about the book and pulls you into the book, and the premise that I guarantee you will feel utterly engaged afterwards. Blood Red Road boars this female character that has some femininity but mainly its her strength and perseverance that saves everyone.
The focus of this trailer lies on Saba, and that makes me sad. And the greatest motivator in this book, the book intro. When Lugh is taken from Saba, and nothing about Lugh or Jack is mentioned. Okay Lugh is briefly and there's no mention of why Saba needs to save him. I was disappointed with the lack of the other characters, but if you look at the book Saba is the main character, but her strength and her stubbornness pours through every choice and event.
So back to Saba and the fact that this trailer is focused on her primarily. First off her character and her essence is captured nearly perfectly in this piece. However, there are times where she is compassionate (however few times that may be), so I wished there was more depth to her. Then there is the location of this tailer compared to the book. The location and what's happening to Saba right now, is only a small... small portion of what the book is about.
I enjoy everything about the trailer though, it does get you involved more than any trailer I have seen thus far. Blood Red Road is definitely one of my more memorable reads, if not one of my favorites of all times. I would recommend the book to anyone, and if you think you may be interested in this book take a look at the trailer.
