[Stacking the Shelves] - #51

Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and is all about sharing the books you are adding to your bookshelf, be it the physical one or your digital one!

Sorry this is late, I had some errands and went out of town this morning. I had a stockpile of books that I wanted to resell, that try to get new books to add to my shelf. I ended up picking up a few books at a nearby Half Price Bookstore. I love that place, but I had a few other books that I was looking at. I hate some of the condition of books and what they are kept in. Personally I try to save the best condition books that are on my wishlist. It's a personal perogative of mine. This weekend was great! I managed to get out of town and knab a few books. Furthermore, Sunday afternoon I went out and saw Divergent. I will have a review of the movie coming.

This week is a collection of books, that were a good continuation of series, a set of newer books that as well continue two series, and two standalone novels. Two of these books have been signed and I hope to update the list later. All of these books are series are books that I am looking to get into quickly. I would love for the books to be read and the time to get binge read. I need to take a week off work I think to do that.

     So without further adieu:

Dreamless
The Lives We Lost
Rise
Tidal
The Impossible
Knife of Memory

Title: Maybe One Day
   Author: Melissa Kantor
   Format: Hardback
   Release Date: February 18th, 2014

Critically acclaimed author Melissa Kantor masterfully captures the joy of friendship, the agony of loss, and the unique experience of being a teenager in this poignant new novel about a girl grappling with her best friend's life-threatening illness.

Zoe and her best friend, Olivia, have always had big plans for the future, none of which included Olivia getting sick. Still, Zoe is determined to put on a brave face and be positive for her friend.

Even when she isn't sure what to say.

Even when Olivia misses months of school.

Even when Zoe starts falling for Calvin, Olivia's crush.

The one thing that keeps Zoe moving forward is knowing that Olivia will beat this, and everything will go back to the way it was before. It has to. Because the alternative is too terrifying for her to even imagine.

In this incandescent page-turner, which follows in the tradition of The Fault in Our Stars, Melissa Kantor artfully explores the idea that the worst thing to happen to you might not be something that is actually happening to you. Raw, irreverent, and honest, Zoe's unforgettable voice and story will stay with readers long after the last page is turned.
