Its a great Monday night, and I have a few books to add to the ever growing collection on my Mailbox Monday list. This week there's not a lot of themeing going on this week, for the segment. However, I bring one of my favorite authors, from a great book that I gave a 5.0 rating to earlier. I have been a bit lazy over the weekend, and there has been a few things on my mind.
I will have an update sometime this week, and hope to keep up to date and maybe just maybe stay a bit ahead this week. As well, I hope to swap Wishful Wednesday and Future Friday around. I want to take part in on Waiting on Wednesday and maybe that'll help bring some of my numbers up. I haven't really thought of what I would name the new Friday feature yet, was thinking about Fantasy Friday, but I'm not sure on that yet. To the point now:

This is one of my favorite authors, and from one of my favorite reads, Between Shades of Gray. I love how this book takes a girl who wants more than the life she's born into. I don't know what it would be like to be born into a brothel, but it wouldn't be the life I would choose to life, it if twas me. As well, if it be extremely awkward being a girl as well. So I understand why she aspires for more.
I read and listened to an interview with Ruta about this book, and all the research she did for this book. I love the detail, the power, and the emotion that goes into every book she does. I love the raw power, the emotion she conveys through every character. So this book featuring Josie, is sure to be everything I anticipate from Ruta Sepetys.

The Ender's Game is a book that caught my eye when it came to my attention that this book was moving to the big screen. I don't understand where I have been, but a friend of mine adored this book. So when I got the chance to look at this book again, and figure out why my friend enjoyed this book so well, I couldn't help but pick up this book.
When I was looking at this book, at the synopsis I understood just what the thought was and why there is such a following for this book. Its a sci-fi book that doesn't really partake on the whole alien aspect of this book, but merely on the politics and the management behind the war. It's much like The Maze Runner meets some alien war. I am curious on the world that Andrew (Ender) lives in, the relationships. I am curious on his brother and sister, who is the most loved, and what do they strive for. Just who they are.

Unravel Me, sequel to Shatter Me, brings Juliette to a world in which her decisions become harder and harder, and forces the world and the people she loves to the forefront. As well, a character I hate the most Warner. His whole egotistic and possessive persona drives me crazy and I hate how he doesn't take a hint. He's almost borderline worthy being called a womanizer. His pursuit of her is unrelenting and rather creepy, but at the end there is just one thing, Juliette's choice.
Juliette is by far one of my favorite characters. She's powerful, and determined; as well, she knows what she wants. Adam is a great support, he pushes her to be everything, and more than what she was supposed to be. Adam is strong, and yet I feel he is compassionate. He wants everything for her, and still he is there supporting her. I love this story line and I love Mafi's work!

A newer book that came to my shelf and I honestly can't wait to get into it. This is a better read and a better synopsis than The Shadow Society and I am sure the rest of you think the same. I will address the paranormal first in this book, Pulse. Being the telekinetic ability to move objects with your mind, push just makes sense if people did harness this ability in the future. There would be a massive force of this people in the military, gangs, or well anything. The motives would remain the same just as any other human, but in this story there seems to be the focus on the group that wants to flatten people.
I love how this book tries to meld action and romance together, I just hope the book pulls through. Faith's ability to master her ability and go against masters, seems rather absurd. I am not sure if I agree with that bit, with her coming out ahead, but we'll see about that when the book gets underway. As well, I am looking to see into Dylan and if he stands united with a group and where his allegiance is, to the group seeking revolution or to Faith. That's the question any good romance will pose, and the answer will decide just how good this book is in the end.

The Shadow Society, there is yet another book about a hidden world. But in this book, a world in which an alternate world exists, and Darcy is from one of those. What I don't understand about this book, is the whole Fringe aspect of it. I mean why? There doesn't seem to be a need for the shades or the monsters in the alternate world and it almost doesn't fit. It would be better if it was just humans, and some of them know about the other world. It would make for a better story.
However, I am stuck with this story, and I will try to make it work and see how good it is in the end. The boy, Conn, strikes me as odd. So he views her as an enemy and then betrays her, I love the foreshadowing in this book... Okay I don't honestly know what I saw in this synopsis when I bought it; maybe I was looking for a different book that sparked my interest at the time.
