The Casual Vacancy is done by a rather good author, and a lot of you may know her. J.K. Rowling. I want to get my hands on this book and devour it's pages! It has so much potential and such a great author behind it. The only downfall of it right now is the debut into the adult book genre. We'll see though!

Author: J.K. Rowling
Date: September 27th, 2012

When Barry Fairbrother dies in his early forties, the town of Pagford is left in shock.

Pagford is, seemingly, an English idyll, with a cobbled market square and an ancient abbey, but what lies behind the pretty façade is a town at war.

Rich at war with poor, teenagers at war with their parents, wives at war with their husbands, teachers at war with their pupils...Pagford is not what it first seems.

And the empty seat left by Barry on the parish council soon becomes the catalyst for the biggest war the town has yet seen. Who will triumph in an election fraught with passion, duplicity and unexpected revelations?

The Casual Vacancy has all the power of a great author behind it, and I have extremely high hopes for this book. Coming from J.K. Rowling (creator of the Harry Potter series), this book just oozes with excellence. The synopsis of this book sounds amazing. A town that is completely split by war, a town that seems to struggle on every level, and no one seems to get along.

I am wondering who the main character is in this book though. Is there one? There just doesn't seem to be any character information, who is involved in this series? We only have one name Barry Fairbrother, and I have to say that the last name is complete ridiculous. Maybe I was jumping the gun on this book, many there should be some doubts when placed on this book. I mean the Harry Potter series took off, and who knows maybe she had an "off" book and this is it. Who knows? But the lack of character information is rather bothersome.
