My Stance:
It's a full week with everything out nearly on time and it's been a great week. I work Friday night, so I apologize ahead of time if I don't get around to answer any questions or well, to catch up on comments. This week on Flashback Friday is a book that I nearly forgot about, Valkyrie Rising. The cover reminded me why I added this to my list, the cover is great, and captures a lot from the synopsis in such a short amount of time and space.
This cover it almost lives and breathes Norway. Having never been to Norway myself, when I picture Norway, a scene like depicted on Valkyrie Rising's cover just bursts to life and burns in my mind. With the fog in the background we get the feeling that not everything is as they seem, and that's pushed further with the shadow of a person standing in the fog behind what would be Ellie.
To the synopsis, Ellie was one of the character I think most could relate to. An average teenager, that is more than what meets, the eye. As well, what she's going through isn't at all what she expects, as most teens are nowadays. As well, the school I went to taught you nearly nothing about the real world, and I hear it's getting worst. So this does a great job capturing my perspective of what teens know, nearly nothing about the world around them, and having to grow up and find out who they are and just how far they are willing to go.
