[Movie Trailer] - #8 Allegiant

Allegiant by Veronica Roth

Title: Allegiant
   Director: Robert Schwentke
   Author: Veronica Roth
   Release Date: March 2016

Beatrice Prior and Tobias Eaton venture into the world outside of the fence and are taken into protective custody by a mysterious agency known as the Bureau of Genetic Welfare.

From the Book:
The faction-based society that Tris Prior once believed in is shattered - fractured by violence and power struggles and scarred by loss and betrayal. So when offered a chance to explore the world past the limits she's known, Tris is ready. Perhaps beyond the fence, she and Tobias will find a simple new life together, free from complicated lies, tangled loyalties, and painful memories.

But Tris's new reality is even more alarming than the one she left behind. Old discoveries are quickly rendered meaningliess. Explosive new truths change the hearts of those she loves. And once again, Tris must battle to comprehend to complexities of human nature - and of herself - while facing impossible choices about courage, allegiance, sacrifice, and love.

Told from a riveting dual perspective, ALLEGIANT, by #1 New York Times best-selling author Veronica Roth, brings the DIVERGENT series to a powerful conclusion while revealing the secrets of the dystopian world that has captivated millions of readers in DIVERGENT and INSURGENT.

Thoughts:

One of my favorite series is starting to finally wrap up, and after Insurgent my more confused moments in YA Movies hit me. Most of you will remember, I wasn't sure how Allegiant was going to head, where it was going to go, Insurgent just sort of finished the series, and I could see a lot of people thinking it was the end. So when this hit I was altogether more curious about the direction and where the movie was headed. I am in shock again, it looks great. I am thrilled to see they are going back and the character David, being played by Jeff Daniels seems so grand. I honestly cannot wait.

The world outside the fence isn't at all what I thought it would be, I am a little nervous that the destroyed earth will look more like Mars than some post-apocalyptic, nuclear fallout world that everything is in. It has me on edge and some of the CGI looks a bit cheesy, but I am withholding judgement until time comes. The costuming in this movie actually seems interesting, I am not sure if anyone noticed the getup of the outsiders and how they dress. It's got this grunge and trench warfare like. Also if you look at Tris, she seems to be more dolled up than usual, it's like they are trying to pull a mockingjay on us.

The other question I have is, does the war between Marcus and Johanna that takes place in the book, does it seem to anyone else this is just getting ignored completely? I mean, in the book it put a timetable on Four and Tris and what they needed to get done. If it is getting ignored, I am hoping we'll get more insight into Four than what the books provided. I just want some sort of tradeoff for the cut.
