My Stance:
I was curious on this novel and rightfully I should with other novels like Eon and Eona. I am not sure which fantasy would be best suited here, and I have heard such great things about the Eon duo. So what caught my eye though was the similarity between the two books, both protagonists seem to be the countries sole solution to salvation. Yet I am going to say it again, How can that be? How can one person be an entire countries solution to any problem? Because she can kill demons or see them or whatever, I don't think so.
So I delved deeper and found something better, in this book she is the guardian of the prince and must save his butt over and over. Okay, we'll that's a bit better, but raising a king doesn't mean you saved a nation, just one person. Not to mention it sounds completely dull and boring, so pardon me if I say this I am more and more losing faith in this book. So why am I featuring it in this weeks Flashback Friday, and why is it still on my wishlist.
I am looking for more fantasy novels with some good action in them. I will read Eon prior to picking this book up, but I am curious on how the plot turns out and if my caution toward this book is warranted. It's a book like this that I may have to do some further research on and see what others thought of this book, and if it's worth picking up. My caution is present and I don't see it going anywhere with this book, I just hope it proves me wrong.
