Thoughts:
Gone Girl is another book that I am going to have to break my lovely idea that I won't go see a movie without reading the book first. I just don't have time in this case. My TBR pile is growing and frankly I am losing the battle of work, sleep, and reading. There is light at the end of the tunnel, or what I think is light or a candle.From what I can tell, is that Nick's wife leaves or disappears on their fifth wedding anniversary. What makes it strange is if she left, wouldn't she have told her parents, and thus the media wouldn't have found it such an enticing story. However, that's not the case, the media is stirred up and turn on Nick as a potential killer of his wife. From the book though I get that he's not exactly all truthful, and while that may be detrimental to him, I can't say that I blame him. The media and all the attention turned on him, probably scared the crap out of him and he's just grabbing at strings. Than again Nick doesn't seem that naive.
Now about the movie, I am not sure if Ben Affleck is who I would have cast as Nick. However, he does have that douchey, snotty look to him in the trailer. I am not sure what I expect out of Nick, mainly cause I haven't read the book, but Affleck just didn't strike me as the best choice. I could be wrong. The rest of the cast seems amazing; Rosamund Pike and Neil Patrick Harris. I want to comment more, but there just isn't much to draw on. Frankly watch the trailer.
