Quentin Jacobsen has spent a lifetime loving the magnificently adventurous Margo Roth Spiegelman from afar. My Stance:
Well with the conclusion of The Fault in Our Stars in theaters and how well it did, I am in the mood for more John Green books. The way he can create lasting characters (okay I only know from The Fault in Our Stars) just takes you on that reading binge until you finish the book at 1 a.m. I've heard a lot of great things about his books, and frankly I have been a little leery on his books; mainly because I didn't think his style was for me.
So Paper Towns came about when I was looking through a few of his books and stumbled on an announcement that this book has been picked up for a movie as well, and is set to be released sometime in 2015. With how great The Fault in Our Stars turned out, I am hoping the second can do the same and if so, I hope more of his books get optioned as well.
Further, the book just seems like something everyone goes through. A boy falls in love with someone and as time passes the person they fell in love with isn't who they really are. It's that perception that we see in a person that we sometimes become blind to. Maybe I am way off base, but what if we flip it the other way around. Maybe Margo is interested in Quentin, but likes the thrill or joy of leading him on, and he's getting the wrong idea of who she is. I don't know, but speculating isn't getting me any closer to this book.
