Title:Glitch
   Author: Heather Anastasiu
   Format: Hardback
   Release Date: August 7th, 2012

In the Community, there is no more pain or war. Implanted computer chips have wiped humanity clean of destructive emotions, and thoughts are replaced by a feed from the Link network.

When Zoe starts to malfunction (or “glitch"), she suddenly begins having her own thoughts, feelings, and identity. Any anomalies must be immediately reported and repaired, but Zoe has a secret so dark it will mean certain deactivation if she is caught: her glitches have given her uncontrollable telekinetic powers.

As Zoe struggles to control her abilities and stay hidden, she meets other glitchers including Max, who can disguise his appearance, and Adrien, who has visions of the future. Both boys introduce Zoe to feelings that are entirely new. Together, this growing band of glitchers must find a way to free themselves from the controlling hands of the Community before they’re caught and deactivated, or worse.

In this action-packed debut, Glitch begins an exciting new young adult trilogy.

Zoe I would assume is part of a Cyborg community. I mean that would explain some of the technological and human integration developments. However no war, no pain seems a bit much. I mean it's human nature to want to hurt another group or feel some sort of pain. Without those two what is peace and happiness? I don't know, I'll assume its true though in this book.

After reading the synopsis again, I thought of The Hunger Games almost immediately. I mean there are this glitchers who technically aren't supposed to exist and yet here they are. What would the Community do to ensure that other people don't try to "free" themselves as well? The one worry I have is in the last bit of the synopsis, I hope there isn't a love triangle here...

Title: The Fire
   Author: James Patterson
   Format: Hardback
   Release Date: December 5th, 2011

Whit and Wisty Allgood have sacrificed everything to lead the resistance against the merciless totalitarian regime that governs their world. Its supreme leader, The One Who Is The One, has banned everything they hold dear: books, music, art, and imagination. But the growing strength of the siblings' magic hasn't been enough to stop the One's evil rampage, and now he's executed the only family they had left.

Wisty knows that the time has finally come for her to face The One. But her fight and her fire only channel more power to this already invincible being. How can she and Whit possibly prepare for their imminent showdown with the ruthless villain that devastated their world-before he can truly become all-powerful?

In this stunning third installment of the epic Witch & Wizard series, the stakes have never been higher—and the consequences will change everything.

The Fire is the third part of the  Witch and Wizard series. And From what I've heard, James Patterson delivers and keeps on going. I can't wait to get around to the series. Until then I am happy to have the series on my shelf, and just hope that my hopes and expectations don't change when I finally get around to it.

Title: The Raft
   Author: S.A. Bodeen
   Format: Hardback
   Release Date: April 21st, 2012

Robie is an experienced traveler. She’s taken the flight from Honolulu to the Midway Atoll, a group of Pacific islands where her parents live, many times. When she has to get to Midway in a hurry after a visit with her aunt in Hawaii, she gets on the next cargo flight at the last minute. She knows the pilot, but on this flight, there’s a new co-pilot named Max. All systems are go until a storm hits during the flight. The only passenger, Robie doesn’t panic until the engine suddenly cuts out and Max shouts at her to put on a life jacket. They are over miles of Pacific Ocean. She sees Max struggle with a raft.

And then . . . she’s in the water. Fighting for her life. Max pulls her onto the raft, and that’s when the real terror begins. They have no water. Their only food is a bag of Skittles. There are sharks. There is an island. But there’s no sign of help on the way.

The Raft has this survival instinct that seems to drive this book home, for the main point this is the whole reason I have been interested in this. Robie and Max I hope grow to have a good relationship and I hope they are around the same age, so they avoid the whole disgusting Fifty Shades years apart. I am curious to see if there will be a If I Stay type style to this book, by that I mean how memories of Robie's past are weaved in and bring me closer to understand Robie and more invested in her character. There is a lot about this book that has me interested already and I can't wait to crack it open.

Title: Heaven
   Author: Alexandra Adornetto
   Format: Hardback
   Release Date: August 21st, 2012

Only sixteen when she started the series, Ally Adornetto knows how teen hearts beat, and this long-awaited conclusion is certain to be her most popular book yet.

Bethany, an angel sent to Earth, and her mortal boyfriend, Xavier, have been to Hell and back. But now their love will be put to its highest test yet, as they defy Heavenly law and marry. They don’t tell Beth’s archangel siblings, Gabriel and Ivy, but the angels know soon enough, and punishment comes in a terrifying form: the Sevens, who are rogue angels bent on keeping Beth and Xavier apart, destroying Gabriel and Ivy, and darkening angelic power in the heavens.

The only way Bethany and can elude the Sevens is to hide in the open, and blend in with other mortals their own age. Gabriel and Ivy set them up at college, where they can’t reveal their relationship, and where there is still danger around each corner. Will Bethany be called back to Heaven – forever – and face leaving the love of her life?

Heaven is part of the Halo series, and even though I haven't technically started the series, I just can't seem to fight the urge to start this either. As well, the cover is gorgeous; well, except the girl floating down from Heaven I would assume or wherever. That pose she is doing just seems... painful. Anyways, I expect to get around to this series and hope to finish it, as soon as I finish Rapture from the Fallen Series.

   Author: Huntley Fitzpatrick
   Format: Hardback
   Release Date: June 14th, 2012

A gorgeous debut about family, friendship, first romance, and how to be true to one person you love without betraying another

“One thing my mother never knew, and would disapprove of most of all, was that I watched the Garretts. All the time."

The Garretts are everything the Reeds are not. Loud, numerous, messy, affectionate. And every day from her balcony perch, seventeen-year-old Samantha Reed wishes she was one of them . . . until one summer evening, Jase Garrett climbs her terrace and changes everything. As the two fall fiercely in love, Jase's family makes Samantha one of their own. Then in an instant, the bottom drops out of her world and she is suddenly faced with an impossible decision. Which perfect family will save her? Or is it time she saved herself?

A dreamy summer read, full of characters who stay with you long after the story is over.

Fitzpatrick has a beautiful sounding story here. I am wondering if this is a coming of age story for some teens. How sometimes when they find someone they care about, deeply care about, and they are faced with some difficult decisions that threaten to tear them apart. I am wondering what the decision and choices she is faced with, and what costs they have. As well the relationship and the personalities between Samantha and Jase sound intriguing and full of depth that I hope they don't let me down, either. I am expecting a good love story, with a possible Romeo & Juliet ending.

   Author: Marta Acosta
   Format: Hardback
   Release Date: July 3rd, 2012

When foster teen Jane Williams is invited to attend elite Birch Grove Academy for Girls and escape her violent urban neighborhood, she thinks the offer is too good to be true. She's even offered her own living quarters, the groundskeeper's cottage in the center of the birch grove.

Something's not quite right about the school -- or is it Jane? She thinks she sees things in the birch grove at night. She's also beginning to suspect that the elegant headmistress and her sons are hiding secrets. Lucky is the gorgeous, golden son who is especially attentive to Jane, and Jack is the sardonic puzzling brother.

The school with its talented teachers and bright students is a dream for a science and math geek like Jane. She also loves her new friends, including hilarious poetry-spouting rich girl, Mary Violet. But the longer Jane stays at Birch Grove, the more questions she has about the disappearance of another scholarship girl and a missing faculty member.

Jane discovers one secret about Birch Grove, which only leads to more mysteries. What is she willing to sacrifice in order to stay at this school...and be bound to Birch Grove forever?

Dark Companion has been on my list for a long long while. Jane has this detective appearance so far. When I read this I couldn't think anything else, Jane has this questioning personality that knows there's something wrong with the school that takes her in. Even though her life is turned upside down for the better, she knows there's just not something right about where she is. As well Jack and her friend Mary have other issues, and their mysterious characters give me nothing but intrigue into this book and questions that I hope will get answered when I get into the story.

   Author: Melina Marchetta
   Format: Hardback
   Release Date: March 13th, 2012

From master storyteller Melina Marchetta comes an exhilarating new fantasy springing from her celebrated epic, Finnikin of the Rock.

Three years after the curse on Lumatere was lifted, Froi has found his home ... or so he believes. Fiercely loyal to the Queen and Finnikin, Froi has been taken roughly and lovingly in hand by the Guard sworn to protect the royal family, and has learned to control his quick temper with a warrior's discipline. But when he is sent on a secretive mission to the kingdom of Charyn, nothing could have prepared him for what he finds in its surreal royal court. Soon he must unravel both the dark bonds of kinship and the mysteries of a half-mad princess in this barren and mysterious place. It is in Charyn that he will discover there is a song sleeping in his blood ... and though Froi would rather not, the time has come to listen.

Melina Marchetta has recently became an author I will look at and follow wholeheartedly. After finishing Jellicoe Road and loving how well the novel brought to life characters that took my breath away, a story that made me cheer in joy at times then turned completely around and made me cry. Marchetta just has a why with the story and I can't wait to get into this story and see how she handles love and the fantasy series. I have heard nothing but good praise from this series!
