[Update] - 3/28/2016

I am back, sort of. I am going to post when I get the chance. I hope to post mainly the reviews as frequently as I can. I just have been busy with real life and had a lot of work going on. I still have that and frankly I am slowly getting more time to myself. I would love to keep going.

I appreciate everyone that has kept in touch and everyone that's been coming while I have been away. I will have some new stuff this week for sure. I will keep going on next week as well, but from there it should be up in the air. I hope to have time to do more. I would also love to start posting some of my other writing too, poems and/or personal writings.

I am grateful for everyone and everything that's happened. I apologize to those that have left, I know that I've been away for a long time, that will change. Thank you, for everything!

[Update] - 2/1/2016

So, I am working on trying to start up again. I had some things in reality land come up and just had to take care of them. Work has been busy and may get busier as the year goes on. So I am looking at the blog and what I do to keep going and making this available. I may have to cut back, but I think that's better than doing nothing like I have been doing for the past few months. I apologize for that. I need to post more and do more. I plan on doing so. Thank you, for everything!

[Update] - 10/12/15

There isn't any Mailbox Monday this week. It's mainly because of the holiday, I have a few packages that are supposed to be here Friday. However, the day came and nothing showed up. So I will have a Mailbox Monday next week. They should be here then. I will have a good post next week and a good series of books. I honestly can't wait to see what books and when they come in.

I am also looking at not buying books for a while, so I am looking for something that could possibly replace the series for a while. There's nothing on my mind or anything I am thinking specifically that could fill the spot. Maybe Movie Monday, but I would have to have a good source or something to continuously do it. So I am open to suggestions. I guess I could take the day off, but I'd rather not.

[Update] - 9/28/15

Good morning, I hope everyone had a good week. I got a few things done over the weekend that needed addressed. Mainly I did a bit of updating my reviews on Goodreads and Amazon. I got everything updated, minus one review on Amazon, because they believe I am trying to advertise myself. It's odd how they think with my name being Ryan and one of the main characters in Dare You To is also Ryan, that they think I'm trying to scam their system. I have enough reviews it shouldn't matter. Oh well, I will skip it and put it elsewhere. I want to take the time to remind everyone, I am not posting to Amazon to get anything from Amazon, I just think it's another venue for my voice to be heard, and if I can help other people judge a book and give them a bit of insight, the more the merrier.

Most of those that frequent my blog now will notice I did a Movie Monday post. I am going to try to do this whenever I can. Basically I don't want to overload myself again, but I didn't have a Mailbox Monday or a Book Haul this week (I will next week), and I didn't want to leave everyone with nothing. Maybe this will change. I had a debate with myself on seeing the movie featured, and I'm still not sure on my decision. Movie Monday is just about movies or TV series, something I've seen/watched that I find interested, what's new and breaking, and reviews to movies I have seen. This gives me more time to review movies, since I usually go to the theater on Sundays. I have been thinking about doing a second blog devoted to movie reviews, not specifically YA, but this gives me an outlet to do that sort of thing. I hope you all enjoy the addition and let me know if you have any suggestions.

I am thinking about what to do on Friday, I know Flashback Friday is something I do, but it's just something that I find is getting a bit dated. I feature older books that I am interested in and trying to draw some more attention to, maybe I just need more books. However I would like to see if there's any other ideas, for a better segment or just something else I could do on Friday to fill the spot better. I'm looking around, not sure when or if I'll change it yet, I'll let you know before I do change it, and let me know if you have any suggestions.

[Update] - 9/22/15

Good evening everyone, I am glad to be back. Again I am thankful to everyone that has continued to show up, or has seen me start posting again and has returned. I want to extend my apologies for being away for so long, I hadn't thought I was going to be away for so long. I went on vacation, which was fun and all. I stayed in Myrtle Beach for a while and while the vacation was nice, I didn't manage to find any good bookshops. I did manage to get a week's worth of reading in and it was worth every moment. However when I got back I had intended to start posting again, I just never got around to posting again. I hope to continue posting for a while.

I am hoping to intrigue other viewers into coming and seeing what I have to offer, and in doing so I am going to restructure again. I am not sure if the layout is going to stay the same, I am playing with a few alternatives. I know I didn't do a Teaser Tuesday this week, and mainly that is due to I am still on the same book, I've been under the weather and haven't had time to read like I used to. I skipped this week simply out of lack of something new to share, but I will try not to make that a habit. I need to set aside more time to read, and I hope to do that.

On a side not, I know that while I was gone there was a few movies that came out, maybe not specifically YA related. I hope to get to those and talk about them, even post a review when I get the chance. I also hope I can keep all of your attention, if there is anything I should be doing different, e-mail me. I greatly appreciate all input and constructive criticism. I will screenshot the blog and maybe do a post on Facebook and Twitter, on my personal one included, to see which layout looks better, or what others are thinking. I hope everyone has a great day, and again Thank you.

[Update] - 7/20/15

Good Morning everyone. I wanted to take some time out of doing a few new posts for tomorrow, or more of a catch-up sort of thing. I won't be doing a Teaser Tuesday for two reasons.

First being I am stuck on two books, The Novice and The Gathering Storm, and haven't really finished either of them, I plan to finish both and start something new next week. I just didn't want to do the same book twice or whatever.

The second I have a long list of Book Haul books that I haven't done, I thought about doing a video, but that's not what I want to get into at the moment. It's a long list of books I have bought and received since middle to late February. I broke the list into two sections so there will be a long list of books and a huge two section Book Haul tomorrow.

I hope this is a good difference and replacement from the Teaser Tuesday.

[Update] - 7/5/15

     Happy Fourth of July!

I know that I've been gone and haven't done nearly anything, I was gone because the blog was turning into my entire life. I was working nearly 50 hours a week and was just struggling to stay awake and have a life doing things that I enjoyed myself. This year has been pretty rough and I apologize for it, because with it, comes some bad news of sorts. I hope most of you can understand and know that I'm going to try to make a comeback and try to do better for the last half of the year.

First off, I am back, I hope to make a post tomorrow (July 6) and the rest of the week, getting back into my routine. However, there may be a few changes, I am just not sure what they will do. I know the first one is I will be condensing the Mailbox Monday. Before I was doing four of my newest books, and four of books that have been on my shelf that haven't been featured. If you want to know what some of those books are "My Shelf" pins and features on are on my Pinterest account, check it out.

The following thing is with that break I did, I did get some books read, but not anywhere near what I needed to get some of my challenges done. This means that I am going to need to work on some of my reading habits if I hope to complete or have a shot at any of them. I will try and I will consider if any need reduced or changed. I look forward seeing you tomorrow.

And finally, I want to thank everyone who stayed nearby, who continued to visit the blog. I want to thank everyone, I hope you all the best, and I hope you had a great weekend. I couldn't do this without all of you. Thank you!

[Update] - 3/10/15

I am in the progress of moving to a normal shift at work. I understand that I took last week off, it was mainly a lot of work getting ready to train someone and doing my weekly blog events. While I took the week off, I managed to do a lot of reading and been moving around and working on other things. However, I didn't manage to get anything new in, so the Mailbox Monday is a compilation of some of the older books that have come in.

This week I am hoping to keep things a bit more up to date, while I am still working on keeping things up to date. Further, the review "By Authors" and "By Series" need a bit updating and those are the list. I also need to work on updating my amazon review account. I am looking for more topic and events to do or something to switch out with some of my less popular ones. If there are any suggestions let me know.

As a heads up the Teaser Tuesday may be a bit late, I am a bit busy tonight, I got this short little update. I hope to get it up quickly tomorrow. Also I am cutting the book reviews I am doing back to one a week instead of two. I am running low on the back log of books I have read that need to be reviewed. I still hope to catch up and then post as I read them, but that seems a bit distance at the moment. I hope you all don't mind.

     Thanks!

[Update] - 1/23/15

Hello, and welcome back to everyone who has been here before. There have been a few changes, not sure if anyone noticed. I went and revamped the "To Read" list, It's updated so far, but there's no guarantee that will stay up to date tomorrow. I moved the whole wishlist buttons to the About Me section, I thought it was too much of a detraction from the site to have them on everything. I like them better there and they still serve the same purpose. Next, I went and updated the lovely Review pages in which I added the reviews that weren't up. It's currently up to date as well. So there's been some work and progress getting things updated and starting on the right foot, I didn't realize how far behind I had gotten and it took almost a day or so to update some things.

Next up on the backlog is the Signed books page, I want to do something a bit different with that and I will probably redo the whole thing. I hope you all will enjoy the new idea, we'll see. I think I got all the padding, if its there's an issue on an older post, feel free to send me a message, I have looked and hunted, I think we're good.

Now in the real world, I am personally going through my shelf and looking at some of the books I can get rid of. Most of what I have is self bought, and I will try to turn around and sell those books and try to supplement or easy the future book surge that will inevitably follow shortly. I know I know, I am in the process of cutting my shelf back, when I do the Shelf Tour you will see. I can't wait to start it and finish it, it's just going to be magnificent, and a bit much. That's about all I have for the moment.

     Thanks!

[Update] - 1/11/15

Another week has gone by and I am still working nights at work, but in doing so I have started something I wanted to do for a while and I encourage everyone to follow along with me. I am in the middle of a House of Night marathon, while I am not all that far in, I find the series entertaining. I will do reviews on them eventually, I have a backlog of stuff that needs done and books to review. I just don't have enough time in my day to do it all.

The wishlist buttons are up and while I don't ask for anything or want anyone to feel obligated to buy me something, feel free to check out what's on my list. Further if you want to gift me something that's not on those list, feel free. I am looking for any suggestions, but at the same time I am going to have to put myself on a book diet here pretty soon, my shelves are getting too full. On that note, I plan on doing a shelf tour again for the start of the year and maybe do an overview shot prior to organizing everything again. You'll be surprised. I need an apartment for my books.

Further I have a few things I need to update around the site, the padding still I know. I have to backlog everything and make sure everything is showing up correctly, if you see something feel free to drop me a line and let me know what's wrong and needs to be fixed (a link would be helpful to the page). However what I am working on now is an updated view of the "To Read" list. I want to make that list a PDF and have it available to anyone interested. It'd just be easier to access and change when I need to, but at the same time I want something easy to access and view. I am not sure how that's going to happen off hand yet.

     Thanks, for stopping by!

[Update] - 1/3/2015

Well I would love to start off by saying Welcome to 2015 and Welcome to the new look. I like how this is looking at the moment. I am working on a fix to change the Recent Posts to show 8-12 posts instead of 4 at the moment. I hope to have that changed soon, but there's not real time on when that is coming through. There are a few tweeks I have to do first thing tomorrow morning. It's getting late and I need sleep. Sorry I didn't get it all completely fixed before moving over but things happen. I appreciate everyone bearing with me.

Next on the list means that I am going to be posting a marquee at the top with any special info that needs to come across, please pay attention. Further the Barnes & Noble / Amazon wishlist is next on my list. I hope to have those done soon, and I would love to add links to Goodreads, B&N and Amazon to my pages, just not sure how I am going to do that as of yet. I am not sponsored by any of them, but I feel giving the readers a chance to go purchase the book after being here is worth it effort and time that's going to be put in. As well I have changed some of the padding with the images, I need to go in and change some of the back-issue posts to follow through with the change, that may take some more time but consistency! Either way, it's 3:20 a.m. here and I need sleep. Thanks!

[Update] - 12/28/2014

I find I am doing these updates to let everyone know that I am still around. I know that I've not posted since the beginning of the month. While I wish I could say that I've been writing, reading a bunch of books, or working on something super amazing. But frankly, it's been more work than anything. The night lady that paginates our paper, up and quit so I'm working nights more starting now. I am not sure how tired/busy I will be in the upcoming weeks.

I am working still on trying to get the B&N / Amazon wishlist up and whatnot, but I don't have a time frame on that yet. Further, I want to redo the layout a bit, I just don't like how this one lacks the control (how many posts show up at any given time) on my end. I am looking for something clean, looks good, and functions well. If you have any ideas let me know. As well, I will be putting up a bookhaul on my twitter and here later (as in, Today or Tomorrow). I hope you all had a great holiday, and drive safe over the New Years. Thanks!

[Update] - 12/1/2014

I want to first say to everyone, "I am indeed still alive." Two weeks ago I kinda stopped blogging mid-week. I got the flu and just slept for most of the remaining week. I am better now and I had a great Thanksgiving. Which brings me to last week, I took it off to be be with my family and have a good time. I appreciate everyone who still stopped by to see if anything new popped up. I apologize for not having an update sooner, I just needed some time away. Thanks.

So December is finally here. I am working on putting Amazon and B&N wishlist links up, just need to figure out where to go. I don't expect anyone to send me anything, and I strongly suggest you just comment, or leave me a message. I am looking at redoing the template again, I have a bug I can't fix with this one (free template), and it's slowly driving me crazy. I have updated my pinterest today with all the new books on my shelf, I will do a Book Haul whenever BookOutlet sends me my books, we'll see. So Thank You everyone.

[Update] - 11/16/2014

I wanted to thank everyone for the visits and the attention I got over the last few days. I had a rather large amount of visitors. I am not sure where they came from or what exactly happened, but I thank everyone for showing up and visiting. Further I am still working on a few changes from last week, but they'll happen, just not sure when with the holidays and work keeping me busy now. Yea work, we have new computers and it's just touch-and-go at the moment, should work better though.

Ahead of time I wanted to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving and a Happy Holidays. I couldn't do what I do now without everyone so Thank You. Further, I will be posting an Amazon and link to my wishlist if anyone of you would like to see what I am wishing for. I strongly suggest letters or just let me know what you're up to, I don't need gifts or anything.  Thanks!

[Update] - 11/9/2014

So this week I feature No One Else Can Have You by Kathleen Hale on Stacking the Shelves. I wanted to comment on that before people questioned or started flaming me for supporting her. I don't agree with what she did, and I am not supporting her actions either, but I want to read her book. I don't think because of her actions she needs people to outright ignore her book, it frankly puts her out of a job and is just rather ignorant. Because you read her book doesn't mean you agree with her or what she stands for, it's a book. Yeah, I guess some argument could be made that some part of her is left in the book from when she wrote it, but frankly it's not like it's entirely her. I dunno, I am interested, and I know that some of the reviews are rather scaldingly bad.

On a side note, tomorrow and Tuesday I am going to be working on updating the list of books in my collection. If you would like to see my library head over to pinterest, most of what is there is current. However, I am going to work on an updatable table/tab file that will show just what is in my collection and what I've read and haven't read. In doing so, I hope to do a better To-Read list and maybe something better. I am not sure, it's something that has me thinking and wondering what would the best alternative be. Another alternative is my To-Read list over at Goodreads, but I'm not sure if that's anything particular or how many really follow that. I thank everyone for the support. and everything that's came in, in the last week. Thanks!

[Update] - 11/2/2014

This week has been harsh, and I just finished Ruin and Rising. It was a book that just blew me away, and I will do a review soon. I have a few books to review first but it should show up soon. As well, I am a bit short on money for books, so I will warn everyone, next week may be a bit short or I may not have new books to showcase. I think that in either case I will try to bring the best I am able to. I love how I am missing some of the great books coming out this time of year. I can only hope that Christmas will come.

I am curious, if I added a link to my Amazon wishlist would anyone gift me books? I am not asking or anything of the sort, I am just curious if there is any interest in that sort of thing. I thank everyone that comes to my blog and reads what I do and the follows that I do have. I know that I'm not as big or as prevalent as some of the other bloggers/vloggers, but I thank everyone for what I have been given and the support I have received. Thanks.

[Update] - 10/2/2014

I have been working on an update, a new feature that I wanted to make public. I have been trying to work on a calendar of sorts to keep track of book releases. I have put some in and if you would like to add any let me know. I want to make it public and allow everyone, but I am not sure on some of the credibility and the amount of time it would take to go through and make sure all the dates are credible. I want to find someone that wants something easy to update, and something that most everyone would be interested in looking at. I like the idea.

I also have been working on keeping up to date, and working on trying to read more. I have been trying to read more and keep up to date on some of my reviews. I need to upload some to goodreads and amazon. I love some of the books that I am reading at the moment. As well, some of the movies coming out are going to be great. I can't wait for Fall to hit and all the new books and movies..
     Thanks!

[Update] - 7/16/2014

So lately I have been releasing two book reviews a week. I fell behind on my reviews and I want to catch up to get to some of the more current books I have recently read as well. This will take some time, further when I get to the current books I have been reading I will go back to releasing one book review per week. At the same time I know I need to update my Goodreads review pages, as well as Amazon. I will probably do Goodreads and get it up to date, than when I get around to it I will update Amazon.

So I have been getting a bunch of e-mails from people reading my Amazon reviews. I appreciate that you all take the time and read the reviews and what I personally think of the books. That's why I do them. However, 90% of what the e-mails are inquiring is the typical: "Will you read my book? I will send it to you in a PDF?" I am sorry, but frankly this is getting more annoying than what I thought it would be. I am not sure what I am going to do about it, but I want to keep posting my reviews to Amazon. I want to post and give people I don't normally reach some insight into the book and what I think. If it helps, I am grateful and that's why I am here.

I have been looking at reworking some of the page design again. Frankly the whole only 8-10 posts on the main page is bugging me. I have been trying to work with a friend to figure out the script and work around it, but it's just not working and we're both confused. If you have any suggestions on different designs feel free to drop me an e-mail.
     Thanks!

[Update] - 5/22/2014

So, many of you may have already noticed that the blog has taken a slight turn for the wicked. I was working on getting a new blog layout up on my test blog, so I could work the kinks out, and well for some reason I put it up on the current Paper Critic blog and well I didn't have much of a choice. I apologize for being down earlier today, it was for that reason. I wanted to get something working up and going, because I am amazing and didn't make a save or backup my current layout. Either way, I am working on getting this up and making it better. I think visually it's better, it's more pleasing on the eyes. Let me know what you think and what I could do to change and make it better.

As well, I made another change, I got rid of the old original title text and replaced it with a logo/image. If you haven't seen it yet.  I created it on the fly and while I enjoy how it's simple and conveys what I am trying to get across. I am going to review anything that can is written, I want to get into some Ellen Hopkins stuff for the fact it's poetry and not a normal story/plot driven. It would hammer that ideal home. But I want to do it on my own terms and not do it because I feel I need to. The site and my reading habits will dictate when I get around to them.

So, now that I am up and running again, I will get around to a The Fault In Our Stars update, and my initial thoughts on the movie. Keep an eye out for it. As well, I hope to go back and review a few other movies that I have seen as well. However, I will go back and try to rewatch them so the review will be more accurate. I would prefer it was the first viewing but what bit late for that.

     Thanks!

[Update] - 4/29/2014

The May Viewers Choice poll has been updated and uploaded. I am glad to say that a few books that I have been looking forward to reading are on that list. I want to read them all, and I figured I would give you all the chance to choose which book I am would read this week.

Furthermore I have updated the Reviews and Reviews by Series pages so that it would be current. I am glad to finally get that caught up to date and I will get the new Review up on Thurs. I am looking at posting those on Amazon and Goodreads as well. I have explained why I choose to post to Amazon, it's just an easier place to post my honest opinion and I don't have to worry about character limits.

Last for this update. I have finally created a Facebook page, (Here) feel free to join it and keep up to date or comment on some of the reviews or other features. I'll keep it up to date with everything that's on the page. I wanted to do this long time ago, I just haven't gotten around to it. I am now on the update to site to that the whole view will look different, but it will take a bit of time to get it up to date.
